i just took my clothes dryer and had a new bearing and element installed. i need to shorten the vent. i have a full basement, the vent goes Through floor, across bottom of floor and though basement wall. lent is building up. can any of you give me some ideas on what to do? can i just run the vent through the floor and into some kind of lent trap? thanks in advance for all help.

Yes,you can buy a dryer unit that allows you to vent to the inside of your house. this unit is filled with water andseparatess the lint and moisture but allows you to gain the heat for your space… and they work well! It is always a good idea to “hard” pipe your vent, those “Slinky” type vent hoses create lint build-up in the creases and slow the air flow down. Remember, the shorter the vent line from the dryer, the moreefficientt and less drying time you have. Good Luck!
