Do you think I can use a furminator on my dog?
I have a half shih tzu half poodle dog and she sheds like crazy. My boyfriend wants to use the furminator on her but I’m not sure her coat will work with it. She has hair that is usually 3″ long and its thick, soft, and fluffy. The hair falls out all over clothes and blankets and when I comb her I get huge clumps of hair out (I do this everyday to every other day). We just shaved her down today to a half inch but when it grows out to the length of a cats coat do you think I can use the furminator? It says on the website it’s not for poodles but my dog doesn’t have a poodle coat and many people don’t think she is part poodle until I tell them. Any thoughts?
Her hair might be too thin to use a furminator on, it could scratch up her skin pretty bad.
You could try using a slicker or a pin brush to get out the excess hair, or you could bring her to a groomer to have her bathed and her dead hair blown out.
