Can I have your opinion on this please?
One of my really nice neighbors, went and purchased a large bag of Petite Size Greenies for my Chihuahuas, not knowing what the past dangers were with Greenies. They are the new ones, that they say are safer. I feel a little uncomfortable giving them to my dogs, in fear that there will be problems, with them choking on them, although I know that any kind of treat like that, can be a choking hazard. Do you feel it is safe to go ahead and give them to my Chihuahuas, under supervision of course, or should I take them back and get them Nylabones instead? Any experiences you have had with Greenies and your dogs, or any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone! I hope all of you Have A Great Day!
I personally had no problems with the Greenies, but I know some people do consider them to be dangerous.
It really doesn’t matter to YOU what I think is safe. You have to go by YOUR comfort level. People who have had problems with greenies make a lot of comments generalizing that Greenies are highly dangerous to all dogs. I personally disagree with them.
You must do what YOU feel comfortable with. If you’re going to worry, take them back, but remember that there are ALSO people who are afraid of Nylabones and claim THEY are dangerous, and there are people who claim that pig’s ears are dangerous…. so whatever treat you choose, there will be someone out there who will tell you that treat is dangerous to your dog!!!! and you need to make up your OWN mind. You could also ask your vet.
I have no problems with Greenies, Nylabones, pigs ears….
but my dogs prefer the raw chicken bones I feed them. -!-
